This weekend at crossroads there was a women's conference and Angela Thomas spoke. The topic was "stronger" and I was so happy to have been able to go! Angela shared so many things that I will be blogging about this week. Tonight I wanted to share with you about the exercise that we did. They gave each of us a bag that had a red ribbon a pearl bead and a safety pin. The goal was to allow Jesus to speak with you and teach you something through the objects. So I prayed about it and nothing was coming to me, instinctively I tried to put the ribbon and the pearl onto the safety pin and the pin wouldn't close. Then it came to me that God is always trying to get my attention and I'm usually distracted by other things that I crowed my life with like relationships and my self image. But when I took the ribbon and the pearl off of the safety pin it was able to close. Just as when I remove the distractions from my life I can focus on my love, Jesus!
Pictured below is the pin with the ribbon and pearl on it, and you can see that the stuff is too big, too much for the pin.
The picture on the Left shows a closed pin, one that is not straining to include things.
