When Thursday of that week came I was fed up with laying there, and I was calling out to God for help! Please Lord Jesus let me walk again! Give me the strength to move my legs, give me strength to sit up so that I can fight to walk! The next day I was able to sit up in bed, and I told the nurses "today God is going to let me walk again!" Of course the nurses had heard it all, so they were not giving me any hope. But I knew there were so many people praying for me. There was one friend in particular who I knew was praying non-stop for me. The hospital send a Physical Therapist in to assist me. The therapist taught me how to stand up by pushing myself off of the bed with my arms. They put a walker in front of me, I stood up as best as I could, and I took 2 steps! Hallelujah! The doctors couldn't believe it! Everyone was stunned! I was praising Jesus, "Thank you Lord for healing my back, I know you'll heal it all the way!"
In Luke 18: 35-43 there is a story about a blind beggar who receives his sight. The story goes that this blind beggar is sitting by the road side, begging. Most likely He heard people talking about Jesus from time to time while he sat by the roadside. He heard a crowd of people coming and he asked "what is happening." The people told him "Jesus is passing by". The beggars heart must have been pounding. He called out "Jesus son of David, have mercy on me!" The people around him said "be quiet!" But the beggar was desperate, he knew Jesus was the only way that he would ever have his sight back! So he kept calling out to Jesus. When Jesus heard the beggar He ordered that the man be brought to Him, and when the beggar got to Jesus, Jesus said "What do you want me to do for you?" The beggar said "Lord I want to see!", and Jesus compassionately said "your faith has healed you, receive your sight."
Jesus loves us so much. He only wants us to cry out to Him, and to ask him for his help, and then he will help us. All the beggar had to do was have faith and ask, then he received his sight! All we have to do is ask Jesus and He will give us what we need.
-Lord Jesus let us seek you first, as our only source for what we need. Let us come to you before we reach the point of desperation, and help us to believe that you, that when we are desperate you will give us what we need. In Jesus name!
