We've come to the end of this series about true love. I hope that you have enjoyed reading it as much as I have loved writing it! God has really used this time of research and exploration of these verses to help me grow in understanding. Thank you for coming along with me through learning about what true love. Today I want to focus on the last little tid-bit of this section about how love NEVER fails and what that really means!
1 Corinthians 13: 8.a
(AMP) Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]
(MSG) Love never dies.
(NLT) love will last forever!
(LB) love goes on forever
Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to and end]:
We have learned that love is defined by so may things, and now we are learning that love never ends, fails, dries up, or dies. Love will go on forever. But what does that really mean?
Looking at this from the perspective of humans loving other humans it means that we keep loving and never stop despite the circumstances. It means that we patently endure the hardships of life, we don't envy what others have, we don't hold our own opinions so high that others are hurt by them, we don't act rude towards others, or insist on having our own way, we don't keep score of what others do wrong, we rejoice in the good things that happen to us and others, we carry the burdens of those we love, we believe the very best of those around us, we hope and dream with trust in our hearts, and love endures everything! It means that no matter what comes into our lives we continue to love, we choose to love.
When this love comes from Jesus it is just the same. Jesus will never stop loving us, pursuing us, and seeking our love and affection in return. Jesus desires us so very much that He would do anything for us, and He did! Jesus gave His life for us in a way that was excruciating! He suffered for a long time, and endured not only physical pain, but emotional as well. The part of this love story that is so amazing is that Jesus died willingly. He loved us so much that, even though he knew how bad it was going to hurt, He chose to love us by going to the cross. It was more important to Jesus to take our sin away than to save Himself from this agony.
John 10:18 "No one takes it away from Me. On the contrary, I lay it down voluntarily. [I put it from Myself.] I am authorized and have power to lay it down (to resign it) and I am authorized and have power to take it back again. These are the instructions (orders) which I have received [as My charge] from My Father."

The Never-failing love that Jesus showed us is so beautiful! His sacrifice exemplifies all the definitions of love as described in 1 Corinthians 13. We will never know a love as beautiful as this ever again! John 15:13 says:
"No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends."
What a powerful example!
Let Jesus love you by accepting His sacrifice, and allowing Jesus to take away your sin. Let Him come into your life, and change it dramatically for the rest of it! All you have to do is say this simple prayer:
"No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends."
What a powerful example!
Let Jesus love you by accepting His sacrifice, and allowing Jesus to take away your sin. Let Him come into your life, and change it dramatically for the rest of it! All you have to do is say this simple prayer:
Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned. I ask you now to please forgive me for my sins and come into my heart. I pray that you would live each day with me, that you would guide my life so that I can live a life of love forever. Thank you for your sacrifice on the cross, I believe that you are God, and I give you my life. Amen!
If you prayed that prayer above, that means you have made a commitment to the Lord and that is an amazing step! I am so happy to have you as a brother/sister in Christ! One thing I ask is that you would either send me a message through my contact page, or send me an email and let me know so that I can help you in your walk with the Lord! I would love to send you a bible to help you start your new life with Jesus. If you don't feel comfortable telling me, please contact someone you know who is a christian, or go to a local church and tell someone that you recently gave your life to Christ! I may not know you, but I love you and am praying for you!
