About two weeks ago I was out with my mom and two kids, we were shopping at yard sales together. Of course me being on crutches and in a boot always catches people's attention and most of the time people ask me questions and some might say to me "good luck". But the women at this yard sale was not only interested in hearing about how it happened, and how I'm doing, but she also encouraged me by saying "God will heal your foot in the power of Jesus name".
I was so surprised and thankful that someone once again placed me in the hands of Jesus for healing. But then the woman said to me "Now all you have to do is go through the healing process." That really stuck with me because I always thought that whenever Jesus healed someone, as long as they had faith in Him, that they would immediately be healed. This statement about the healing process really got to me, and I began to wonder, does Jesus sometimes make us go through a process to receive the healing he grants to us?
A few days ago in my bible reading, I read in John about how Jesus healed the blind man.

A few days ago in my bible reading, I read in John about how Jesus healed the blind man.
As He passed along, He noticed a man blind from his birth. His disciples asked Him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he should be born blind? Jesus answered, It was not that this man or his parents sinned, but he was born blind in order that the workings of God should be manifested (displayed and illustrated) in him. John 9:1-3 AMP
I love this part of the verse because it explains that sometimes God allows us to go through things just so that God can be glorified. This might seem unfair, or like God is being insensitive toward us, but it should be taken as a place of honor. In my circumstances, God chose me to have my foot broken so that He could be glorified! That means that not only am I strong enough to handle it, but that God wants to use me and I should make the effort to not allow my sin to get in the way. What I mean is that instead of getting angry and depressed that I have a broken foot I should make every effort to allow God to use this experience for his glory!
Then he spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing! John 9:6-7 NLT
This is the healing process. This time Jesus didn't just place his hands on him and heal him, there was a process to his healing. First Jesus made mud and placed it on the blind mans eyes, then the blind man had to go to the water (where Jesus instructed him to go) and he had to wash his eyes. After he followed the instructions of Jesus, he was healed and his sight was restored. The blind man had to follow what Jesus told him to do before the healing could take place. This is amazing news because that means that God is working through the healing process, and He is using my efforts and my obedience to heal my foot!
I have to tell you when I first hurt my foot this badly, I could not believe that I had to deal with another injury. I was angry and totally stressed out about it. But when I finally asked for healing from Jesus instead of letting myself get stuck in the craziness of my injury, I actually started receiving healing!! I then followed the instructions of the doctor and every time I see the doc he is amazed at how drastically different my foot is! Its amazing! The healing of Jesus can sometimes be a process, it can sometimes take longer than you want it to, but letting Jesus love you and heal you is the best blessing you can ever receive.
Lord I thank you for all you have done for me. I thank you for your healing my foot and for the impact it is having on the doctors and Physical therapists. I am so blessed to have you in my life, and to be chosen to show you glory is such a gift Father God. Lord I pray that you would impact those who are reading this, that they would know and understand you better because of this message. I love you Lord, in Jesus name I pray Amen!
